Fir Meadow Lamanchas & Toggenburgs

Senior Does

Ok Ok!  We give....   If they are in our herd they are 'one of our favorite does" or they wouldn't be here :O).  We expect that each one has genetic value in improving the lamancha breed- something we strive for in our breeding program....  Temperment is also very important to us and we have repeatly received compliments (and repeat customers) on the temperments of the Fir Meadow stock...

Lovable, huggable, quiet temperament!  Tall and upstanding, long bone patten with one of the widest rear udders in the show circuit. And she milks: 4-0 3166.  She appraised E on shoulder assembly, rear legs, back & rump on younger appraisals.  Her 2007 5yo appraisal is after she lost a lot of weight from a mycotoxin (moldy sunflower seed) poisening.  Our appraiser said if we could have gotten the weight on and had her scored a couple months later he could see her at 90...  She is holding up well though milking so heavy- still grabbing some BOB in !  Rosine & her dam,  produce awesome kids.   Rosine's '04 maternal sister was in the spotlight sale.   We have LA 90 son Tob V in our herd. We have been using her 07 son on our 07 doelings (he is yet for sale and is really really gorgeous!)  Rosine's paternal brother, Redemption, earned his first GCH leg as a 3yo at the Dist 8 lamancha specialty.  06 Son, Whatta Thrill! by Valiant has 5 jr Ch's in.   Daughters, Wiese- 4 x dry GCH and two BJDIS, 2008- 2x RGCH, 1x GCH, & Xochitl GCh dry leg, with 1st/1st udders as a yearling in 2008. Still have Xochitl's beautiful 07 littermate brother for sale and a couple of buckling full brothers.  Repeat breeding to Valiant for 2009 on the last three successful years.

"Kiney" had 06 off due to a mild uterine infection that we were able to successfully treat,   but she has blossomed now as a 4yo in '07 and is milking good- 10.1 being her May test.  She has been a very consistent milker with a slow curve, so I expect her to have nice final numbers this fall.  Shekkinah  is a long & powerful beautiful uphill doe with an awesome topline and front end & plenty of strength and correct leg placement- reminds me of Melody a lot though unrelated.  Her mammary is also lovely in shape, attachment and teat size/shape/dilineation.  Her first show out this year (07) she captured both rings with GCH/BOB/BUOB and the judges (Tricia Walker and Karen Senn) spoke very highly of her.  We're very proud of you Kiney, we knew you could do it!  Our appraiser (07) said that she is right on the edge of 90- she is still milking off that weight from last year :).   Shekkinah has produced a beautiful Valiant daughter for 2008-  Yakkity Yakk- who has her dry leg GCH, and even a Best Junior Doe in Show in.  Yakkie stays here but we are planning to repeat this winning breeding for 2009 with kids for sale.

Tickle looks dairy and sharp with a nice topline, open and wide escutcheon and leg set with a beautiful breed character head and beautiful beautiful mammary with glove soft texture and milks down to NOTHING and beautiful front end.  Tickle could be the most correct doe we have bred to date and she has a wonderful sweet temperment as well...  Her and her dam were 1st place dam/daughter at Oregon State fair in '06.   Being a slower to mature type of girl we are so pleased to see her starting to come into herself as a 3yo and finish (she is at least a 3rd generation GCH).  Milk record: 2-10 305 2410 86 80. Bred to Xonerate with 1st daughter retained.   I see MILK MILK MILK in this breeding.  Will be a far back linebreed on Quixote Kate's Kareem LA 91 SGCH & multiple top ten, LA 90 - 93 producer.  We plan to repeat the 2008 breeding to Xonerate,  for 2009 kids.  We are keeping the 2008 daughter, Yodel, for a dry yearling to show at nationals.  She really is a looker.  09 kids will be available.

Nice sharp dairy looking gal like her dam,  we are so pleased to have her!  Timbrel freshened with a beautiful beautiful udder and is among the best lamanchas we think we have bred, also with a wonderful temperment. She is a smaller lamancha so gets looked over some,  but don't miss her- she's LA 90 and IS a pretty package with a sweet quiet temperment.   Hmmm, might take her to Xonerate for 2009 kids....

God is GOOD!  Wiese is German for meadow- she is a black and lt tan and really is exceptional- a blending of her dam and her paternal Grandam's fine qualities...  Another amazingly wide rear escutcheon arch from Valiant, that has turned into another very pretty and milky mammary with very lovely general appearance and a quiet sweet temperment...  She already has 1 GCH milking leg as a first freshener.  Her pedigree has an amazing amount of GCH & Milk- 3000# & breedleaders everywhere....

This  fancy & gorgeous black and tan doeling has an amazing pedigree right behind her- parents and grandparents are all SGCH- we are thinking that may be a rare pedigree....  You will notice that she is 50% Monsoon, and has a lot of milk behind her every direction.  Whimsical was our nomination to the spotlight sale for 2006.  We really are not disappointed they turned her down.  Maternal sister,  Tickle, has finished her GCH as a 2nd fresh 3yo, & a BUIS, with another GCH win at 4 at Oregon State Fair.  Her '07 show year has been fabulous, she's only been beat by paternal sister Wiese with large competitive classes.  Our 07 appraiser said she has the widest rear escutcheon he has seen on a lamancha.  Whimsical has freshened with a very lovely milky mammary-   9.8#'s her first test.  We are thinking she could be the most correct lamancha doe we have bred.  Her and Tickle make a nearly identical produce of dam class as well :).  2008- Our appraiser wanted to score her LA 90, but as a first freshener 89 is the highest score they can obtain.   First 2009 daughter will be retained as well as first buckling, others will be for sale.  Breeding to Tob V to pull in additional breedleaders and lined on Quixote Kate's Kareem (SGCH, LA 90 or 91, producer of many LA 93, 3000 milkers).

Beautiful, feminine doe, yet with ample strength.  Pretty face, amazing escutcheon arch, wide rear leg set, sharp yet smooth.  She has a solid pedigree with all LA 92 does direct behind her and is linebred on ++*B SGCH Quixote Kates Kareem LA 91.   We had to park 'Joicie" as a 2yo due to bilateral mastitis,  but with a lot of herbal salves thru the rest of the year (we had dried her up), she freshened with a very impressive 3yo mammary that you would never know had mastitis in it's history.    We have one 09 son for sale from her.
